St Patrick’s Festival!

On behalf of the St. Patrick’s Day Committee here in Perth, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to you for your valuable support and participation in the annual St. Patrick’s Day festival held in Leederville last March. The event’s success was made possible by the commitment and enthusiasm of sponsors and attendees like you.

We are thrilled to announce that the Perth St. Patrick’s Day festivities will return on Saturday, the 15th of March, but this year we have a big change!! As Perth prepares to host an AFL Gather Round, we were notified by the City of Vincent that the Leederville Oval will no longer be available to host the festival and our tradition of hosting the parade though Leederville has come to an end. The City of Vincent has maintained support of our event and has approved the use of Birdwood Square, 301 Beaufort Street.

This location is a big shift, with the parade now beginning on the corner of the Brisbane Hotel and heading north on Beaufort Street before turning at Broome Street and returning to Birdwood Square for the traditional Family Fun Day in the park. We invite you all to join us for the parade and the festivities for an entertaining day of culture, music and a bit of Craic!!

This change gives attendees a double opportunity to view the parade as it returns to Birdwood Square from its starting point, maximising viewing, fun and exposure, all while minimising impact on surrounding residents.

On the field, we will be expanding the kids’ zone, and we will also have a family picnic area. If you wish to bring your shade, feel free to do so and set up in the family picnic area. Please be mindful of the field surface when setting up tents or gazebos. We have been overly blessed by the weather these past two years so increased water facilities and designated cool areas are being prepared.

Once again, we have an exciting lineup of dancers and music, featuring the Broken Pokers, Black Rose and many more. There will be plenty of food stalls and, of course, reasonably priced Irish beverages for the adults.
